Technical Duties:

  • Support the development of aircraft cargo conversions across multiple platforms
  • Develop, integrate, and document structural requirements and component designs
  • Use 3D CAD tools and 2D drawings to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production organizations, suppliers, and external customers throughout the product lifecycle
  • Support supplier development, test and production activities and coordinate with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals.
  • Assist in the evaluation of each conversion for impact to certification and conduct activities to show certification compliance
  • Develop concepts for future product designs and modification to existing products to meet projected requirements.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Comprehensive working knowledge of engineering principles, design concepts and industry standards
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent and/or 7+ years of aviation experience performing structural or cabin interior design
  • Understanding of EASA certification requirements (CS 25 preferred)
  • Experience with PLM Systems (3D Experience/Enovia preferred)
  • Experience in CAD tools (SolidWorks, preferred)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience in aircraft freighter conversions or cabin interiors
  • Knowledge and familiarity with OEM drawings, processes, and specifications
  • A history of leading and upholding a proactive safety culture and of embracing first-time quality and continuous improvement as a way of life
  • History of demonstrated achievement and skill working with Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) projects
